The market may be tough for buyers but don’t give up just yet.

If you're a frustrated current homebuyer in today's market, please don't give up. I understand the frustration, but quitting isn't the answer. Today, I’ll share three compelling reasons why you should stay in the game.

1) Other buyers are getting out of the market. Just like you, other buyers are considering giving up due to market frustrations. They're sitting on the sidelines. Remember Robert Frost's poem about taking the less-traveled path? The only way to have a chance at winning is to stay in the market when many other buyers are taking a break.

2) Many buyers are backing out before making an offer. For example, only recently, there was a home that had significant interest but only received three offers instead of the expected six or seven. Being one out of three offers gives you a better chance to win.

3) Many offers are falling through, and deals are collapsing. In the last week in Erie County alone, 20 homes under contract or pending returned to the market for various reasons like home inspections, financing, or cold feet. Stay in the game, and you might just get the property you want, maybe even with a home inspection.
